WEEK 7: ACADEMIC INTEGRITY AND PERFORMANCE

hello everyone, how are you doing? may allah bless you with total prosperity and greatness in life. so week 7 will be the last week for me and my friends to update our blog for the assignment. i hope this very last post will be beneficial to everyone who are reading. the topic given for this week are academic integrity and performance. so lets start!! 😇

 

AVOIDING PLAGIARISM

before i talk further, we should know what is plagiarsm. according to the dictionary of google; it is the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.

all in all, why does plagiarism happens among the student? for me, there are many reasons why students choose to plagiarize and cheat. firstly, ranging from laziness to slopiness to a lack of understanding about the subject/subtopic/tutorial/assignments. they are simply to lazy to do the research about things they dont know. there are possibilities which they even dont know what they they dont know.

the procrastination and the poor time management leads to the laziness for them to complete their responsibilities. when they realize there is no much time left, all they think is just to copy their friends' work without knowing the consequences they will get later in the future. if they are lucky enough, they wont get caught by the lecturer and if not, later they might facing some punishment from the superior person especially when it comes to important matter.

surely, a problem will always comes with a solution. there are some ways on how to avoid plagiarism on oneselves. first of all, do not procrastinate with the research and assignment. this is because, if we do the research earlier, it helps us better to do the assignment/tutorial. eventually we will have much time to do more research if we have problems on completing the task and we can submit the work earlier/ on time. unlike the ones who procrastinate with their work, they will find it hard to complete the task given. so the final solution for them is simply copy down their friends' work. or in another good way, the student should understand clearly about the task they want to plagiarize because if they understand those good enough, they can paraphrasing it back and add their ideas without getting busted with anyone. as long as they understand it, its fine. for me 😅

CALCULATING GRADE POINT AVERAGE

universities aint same with highschool. i have to keep everything right on track and if not, i will be missing the whole semester. i eventually study hard for every quiz/assessment in order to get good gpa later during the final. because for me, it is important to get good marks on everything. back then, my teacher said when we do something, we must do it all out, give it the best shot. so, here is the grade point  for universities students:

in conclusion, wether it is quiz or assessment and ofcourse final, we have to do the best we can because both gpa and cgpa are important.
