assalamualaikum and henlo there!! to the ones who read this, I pray to Allah to bless you with never-ending happiness 💓 so here i am, doing the task assigned by the lecturer. for week 4, the post is about
t i m e m a n a g e m e n t, so lets begin!!
OPTIMISING STUDY TIME
surely, everyone have their own perspective of view about how to optimise our study time, because we're living our world, we cannot simply follow others since each people have their own capabilities and specialities. personally, i am having my own style on how to optimise my study times.
in the first place, we are encouraged to take note while studying or while listening to the lecture. considering that, i am one of the forgetful person, writting down everything on my notebook, really helps me to memorize the fact, the method and the tips given by the lecturer. i simply can check it out back whenever i am in need or when the exam, quiz, assesment are around the corner. it helps to reduce the waste of time since there are many subject to score and to revise all over again also it can help me to understand the main concept better.
futhermore, it is a mandatory to get an enough sleep, seeing that getting enough sleep really helps to boost my energy for the next day. i am really interested to sleep as early as i can, unfortunately, due to some reasons, there are times when i have to stay up to finish my work. being a teenager/ an adult, we are adviced to sleep for 7-8 hours per day. getting an enough quality sleep at the right times everyday will help us to protect our mental health, physical health, quality of life and safety. the damage from sleep deficiency can occur in an instant such as having microsleep (during class) or it can harm us over time. for example, ongoing sleep deficiency can raise the risk for some chronic health problem, when we are sick, it will slowly affect how well we think, react, learn and get along with others. this will cause a massive of problem. as for me, getting an enough sleep each day will help me better to go through the day happily. also not to be forgotten, getting an enough sleep will help us to pay attention, make decision and be more creative. our brain cannot functioning well if we dont have enough sleep.
ORGANISING STUDY TIME
everyone in this beautiful world is blessed with 24 hours a day. god let us decide everyday, about what we wanna do, what we wanna eat and many more. simply, we need to organise our time wisely so, we wont waste any single second for the useless things and also useless people. specially for the student, we really have to organise our time carefully, the key to success is to plan cautiously. do you ever heard about a quote saying "when we fail to plan, we plan to fail". this type of quotes really touched the bottom of my heart and makes me goes astaghfirullah when i fail to plan my day. so, lets look for some tips on how organise our study time student version.
first and foremost, we have to set the times limit during our study session. for the reason that, our productive studying typically occurs within the first 25-30 minutes. when we have reach the first 30 minutes of studying, we are encouraged to take a short break. during the short break, we can take a glance at the nature to help us getting more fresh during the study session. taking a short break helps us to stay focused over long period of time and helps us in retaining information in our memory system. and the most important thing for taking a short break is it will give our brain the chance to rest and recover.
moreover, we are proposed to set specific goals for each study session. i mean it is like, writting down the to-do list so that we will be more hardworking to get it done. studying without plan is like going nowhere. for some reason, writting down the to-do list for the weekdays/weekend gives me an advantage on how to being productive. i wont simply waste my time doing nonsense thing through out the entire day. i will make sure during the day, there to-do list will be ticked. seeing the to-do list is fully ticked makes me a happier student because i know, i am able to do more things in the future.
USING TIME MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES TO STAY MOTIVATED
in order to stay motivated these day it is extremely hard because we're living far from our friends although living under the same roof with our parents. for me, having friends by my side, really gives me the vibe to study even more because i feel insecure. also it is not like they wont invite me to the study group. it is like i am afraid i wont be as clever as them. so here we go, some useful life hacks on how to stay motivated.
first of all, we have and we need to minimize our distraction. this is the hardest thing ever in life but we have to try our best to minimize any and all the distractions. for example, putting away our mobile devices during study will increase our productivity as there are no any distraction like browsing the social medias (instagram, twitter). for me it is better to silent the phone's notification so that we wont get disturb with the sound.
secondly, everyday i will set my mind to make sure all the task given are well completed, so in the evening/ night i can have my own me time like go for a car ride around the city. somehow this kind of motivation helps me to do my work faster than before because i dont wanna be late for my me time date with myself. and if i dont complete my work on time, my me time have to be cancelled. it is like a self-reward too. when i reward myself after the long time for doing the tutorial/ assignment, it is more worth than anything else in my life.
REDUCING PROCRASTINATION
procrastination is a noun. it is an act or habit of procrastinating, or putting off or delaying, especially something requiring immediate attention aand action. my circle of friends often said " procrastination often makes easy things hard, hard things harder". being a procrastinator aint good these day since there are tons of task to be done, here, i would like to share 5 simple ways to overcome procrastination and get things done.
- vividly imagine the feeling you'll have when the task is done.
- negotiate a self-reward after the task is completed.
- visualize yourself doing the task easily, quickly and smoothly.
- overcome the negative thoughts that lingering on the mind. change the negative way of thinking into the positive one. for example, "i am tired, i cannot do this" change it to "i am fine and i am capable of doing everything, i will make sure the stuff will get done" {this kind of self-motivation sometimes help me to ensure my sanity}
- convince yourself that everything will follow its flow. convince yourself everything will be fine if you do the work on time. and you'll have more time to be relax.
